Kennedy Kards Playing Cards

Front of deck

Kennedy Kards were published in 1963 by Humor House. This bridge sized deck has the standard 52 cards with one joker card (the joker is the Democratic Party donkey). The face cards are members of the Kennedy family as well as other officials. JFK is the Jack of Hearts, Jackie Kennedy is the Queen of Hearts, and Bobby Kennedy, the King of Diamonds. An informational card is included which proclaims, “Long live the King, Queen and Jack.” Lyndon Johnson was the Jack of Clubs, and within the year he would be president.

I have two decks of these. My first deck was won on an eBay auction and came with three Robert Kennedy for President buttons. The deck is open, and while the outer box is dirty and slightly warn the cards are in very good condition. I also have a second deck still sealed (pictured), but the plastic is yellowed, dried out, and cracking off. The package is in perfect condition underneath.

Additional cards included

Joker, information card, and Ace of Spades

Bicycle Prestige cards are 100% plastic cards (Dura-Flex), but made to feel like paper cards. Thicker than regular plastic coated cards, these cards are waterproof and will bounce back into shape. These cards don’t have a tuck case, and are instead housed in a plastic top lift box wrapped in a silver cardboard casing. These cards aren’t recommended for cardistry, as they don’t fan out as smoothly. The first run of these cards came in red or blue, with a stylized take on the traditional Bicycle angel design. This red backed deck is sealed in original package. Appearance of scratches and scuffs in the images is just on the outer plastic wrap.

Bicycle Dragon Back Red

Front of deck

Bicycle Dragon Red boasts a mirror image dragon design on the front and four-way dragon design on the back. This style also comes in blue, gold, green, and yellow. The heart and diamond pip colors match each color deck, and the face card colors correspond with the dragon colors. The Dragon Back Red deck has red and gold face cards, and the heart and diamond pips are red. This deck comes with 2 standard Jokers (one color matching, one black and white), and a double backed gaff card.

This deck was released after supposedly being discovered by a USPCC employee looking through a book of old card back designs. The Dragon Back was designed decades ago, possibly in the early 20th century, but there is no record of it ever being produced.  – Playing Cards Wiki

Les Grande Rois de France

Front of deck

Les Grande Rois de France (The Great Kings of France) features reproductions of royal paintings of royalty on the face cards. Face cards are marked with the French markings, so the suits are trèfles (clubs♣), carreaux (diamonds⋄), cœurs (hearts♥), and piques (spades♠), The ace is the 1 card, and the face cards are the valet (jack), the dame (queen), and the roi (king). They are printed by Editions Dusserre in Saint-Max. Image below is the only image I could find showing some of the face cards, as this deck is sealed. Some cards may be different as the image shown was by a deck printed by Editions Dusserre location in Paris, and therefore, may be a different edition.

Paris

Front of deck

This deck contains 54 playing cards with Paris monuments. Card backs have an image of the Eiffel Tower, Arc of Triumph, Sacré-Coeur and Notre Dame, as shown on the image. These are typical souvenir shop cards, which are some of my favorites. These types of cards are often gifted to me by friends who are traveling and think of me when in a gift shop.
